This is a little bit of a bittersweet note; I recently discovered the work of Matt Doust, an American-born, Australian-raised artist who recently passed away in L.A.. Such a tragedy. He has left behind a legacy of incredibly beautiful paintings which put him in the shortlist for the Archibald prize in 2011.

He was set to open a new exhibition in LA on September 7th, so this has taken everyone by surprise. But like I said, his name and talent will live for many many years through his work.
