Black Friday deals are not only for tech toys and video games – thank god! For this post I gathered a few cool cats that are on SALE for the weekend. First off Etsy: some of the prints I selected are 30% off – ah, yah. Then we have Art.com currently offering 25% off on all orders until November 25th – you better hurry for this one. Last but not least; Cardboard Cities – one of my favorite collage artists – with super cool free shipping through Monday. Now get that credit card out and bang the crap out of it – in an artful way.
These goodies could be purchased for yourself or – if you are a very smart cookie – for your early Christmas shopping. Seriously, art makes such an amazing present, more so than acid washed mom jeans.

ART. I need Nice Things
Fall is in full swing and just as the leaves change in color to welcome the crisp, chilly wind – so does the art for this month’s Affordable Art. It’s kinda crazy to see the progression of this series influenced by the weather.
For this collection I dug up a few favorites from I need Nice Things – An Australia based online shop that carries lots of beautiful prints. The style and vibe of this site is more design-y oriented that others; lots of geometry and simple, bright colors. Hope you enjoy the collection! Let me know if you have any favorites! (Mine’s the embroidered circles, of course!).

ROOM. Dwell | ART. Shane McAdams
Is that room a babe magnet or what? Last week while I was pinning away I started looking for inspiration for my own apartment (one can dream of a magazine-looking place, right?) and found these two amazing images; one from Dwell magazine and the other from Shane McAdams’ series Synthetic Landscapes. I seriously felt the need to merge them for today’s feature of arty interiors. I think this one’s a favorite!
Have you seen these other paintings by Shane? Yeah, so crazy in love with them.
bing it to life!

Ok, last week when I heard that ALT was partnering with Bing to create #BingItToLife, I jumped off my chair and went on a pinning frenzy looking for inspiration and ideas to bing them to life. Dudes, this is such a great opportunity to materialize all of those pins, magazine clips and posts!
So, after combing through my favorite projects and bookmarks – here are my #BingItToLife artsy candidates:
An interactive Instagram gallery.
Where? In one of the lounges! Right at the entrance, greeting all of the lustful ALT lovers with tons of fresh images from the event.
How? The dudes at Bing could install a screen that’ll be hooked to a live feed from the tag #ALTSUMMIT. Add a few pretty polaroids to set the mood and bam! You just got yourself one cool social media/photo display.
An inspiring live painting session.
Who? A talented artist creating a unique piece surrounded by ALT attendees. Great music playing in the background and a few drinks. Can you feel it?
How? Set it up at one of the mini parties! This idea would support local artists and infuse the event with creativity. On a side note, I also thought of having a watercolor booth, you know? Like a photo booth (which is like crack for us bloggers) but with an artist painting a quick portrait of you. Best. Souvenir.Ever.
The lounge that will help you organize all of your bloggy thoughts.
What? A Bing lounge with amazing decor – minimal and modern, just like the Scandinavians like it (aka – bloggers paradise!).
How? Fill the room with affordable art for sale, magazines and a few working stations for team meetings (and for the whole oh-ma-lord-I-love your-blog-can-we-be-friends thing.) Warning – some peeps may want to stay and live in here. Including myself.

Can you believe it?! It’s October already. Thanksgiving (in Canada) is just a few days away. Two more months and 2012 is gone. Ay mami. Well, that certainly leaves no room for procrastination – especially when it comes to purchasing affordable art for your home. In this month’s edition of Smart Collections I dug up some amazingly affordable prints from Society6.
I know it’s Fall and everyone is going gaga for the orange-pumpkin tones, but why not break the rule a bit and inject some Spring 2013 hues into the mix? So fresh. What about you, are you already sipping cinnamon lattes?
