Remember Masha Reva? I sure haven’t forgotten her, she’s the one that did this amazing collaboration with Kiev-based brand Syndicate. This collab was super successful for both of them, I mean come on! We all went gaga on pinterest with it!

Well, Masha is back again with a whole new series – also in partnership with Syndicate – titled Odessa. For this series miss Reva mixed vintage flea market finds with kitschy luxurious Ukrainian elements and a few pops of good ol’ royal jewels. Totally fit for a Queen! Not an average Brit Queen of course, but a fashion forward vixen.

Side note: those nails are serious swag!

Who wants some art and fashion!?

This capsule collection by NOIR NOIR is kinda blowing everyone’s lid right now. It’s a fusion between photography and fashion, pattern and colour, cool and fucking awesome. In a world where there’s TONS of competition in every single industry, differentiation is key to survive, and in this case, I bet NOIR NOIR is doing pretty well.

Also, have you noticed that the word of the year is – aside from selfie – “capsule”?, I kinda love it and we will definitely see more of this small – capsule – collections popping up everywhere, you just wait!

This ad campaign for Harajuku clothing store Laforet titled Be Noisy is as quirky and weird as the world-famous style this district is known for. Directed by Rikako Nagashima, these looks merge all-time favourites such as florals and art – the art being those crazy installation-like wires coming out of the model’s mouth. Only in Japan.

You should definitely check out the short videos below to see the whole thing happening. I mean, when was the last time you saw someone spitting flowers and wires out of their mouth all while looking super kawaii? (Yes, I’m totally pulling my Gwen-Stefani-2004-Hollabackgirl lingo in here, which is as Harajuku as I’ll ever be).

Intergalactic planetary awesomeness. That’s what artist and designer Maiko Takeda is all about. Her new collection titled ‘Atmospheric Reentry’, is a futuristic take on runway essentials. The minimal construction of the garments, combined with the multifaceted accessories, create an extremely powerful look that is nothing but pure art.

I wonder if some crazy fashionista is already wearing something similar on the streets of New York or London, ’cause those are breeding grounds for any eccentric looks.

The goddess of MoMa and mother of artsy-realness, Tilda Swinton, has shot an incredible editorial for W Magazine’s current issue titled ‘Modern Beauty’. I cannot think of a better person for this photo shoot other than Tilda herself (yeah, Tilda and I are on a first name basis).

As an added bonus, here’s the interview W magazine had with this iconic woman. Seriously, some people’s creativity seems to come from outerly worlds.

Oh. My. Ga. I can’t. I am head over heels for these portraits by London-based Art Director and Photographer Madame Peripetie. The styling in this series titled BOO design | portraits is beautifully done. It’s very simple yet stunning. And the whole metallic/bug vibe is very, very trendy (in an almost creepy way).

Today I prepared a Fashion and Art post (which will be published later this month) for Meg Biram that talks about this year’s trends – patterns, textiles, and metallic colours in all their glory. I am super excited to see what kind of crazy concepts (influenced by these trends) will be developed for art, design, interiors and decor. Are you going to be able to handle all the craziness?

I am really liking these whole crazy bananas prints on t-shirts. I’m not sure if the bold/fruity patterns are going to be huge this year, but I’m already stocking up.

My my. This book cover is breathtaking, isn’t it? The fact that is all about Diego Uchitel polaroids makes it 100X better! Mr. Mark found this book while browsing through the land of everything awesome (aka Anthropologie), and obviously he couldn’t resist to purchase it.

This book is such a fountain of inspiration! Not just for fashion photographers, but also for lovers of stunning imagery (calling all ma pinners out there). The reason why I am featuring this book today, is because I JUST got back from Salt Lake City and unpacked the little polaroid we received as swag from one of the sponsors at Alt Summit (yeah, we almost pissed ourselves when we saw it). It totally inspired me to plan some sort of polaroid project.

Do you love polaroids? Do you have one at home? No? Say waaah. Ok, I suggest you go to your nearest flea market and try to score one, seriously, you won’t regret it. If you have the money you can spend some good dollars over at The Impossible Project – still, check Craiglist and Kijiji because more often than not, a granny is getting rid of hers. Granny’s garbage = happy hipsters.

TIP: I’ve been using my polaroid to take “test pictures” of my food posts, it’s a great way to actually see in “print” how the whole thing will turn out. Give it a go!

Oh the love of vintage cameras. Who can deny it. Bulky, beautiful and hard working. Sounds almost like a hot date, no? Well, actually you could turn it into a hot date if you pair that handsome Kodak Brownie camera with that vintage-looking coat. Yeah, looks like a picture out of the Wonder Years!

This is one of my favorite trends: bold, nature-inspired images on clothing. The trend can be now seen at major retailers and shops – but obviously – some are cooler than others. Today, I present you with 3 different shops that offer these trendy goodies – and since last week’s post was kind of a hit – I decided to do a few pairings with botanical illustrations, you likey?

Our first stop in this flora-and-fauna tour is: Syndicate – a Ukrainian brand that loves to collaborate with different artists to create unique pieces like the ones shown above. The collection called Botanical Layers was designed by Masha Reva (the gal that did this amazing photo shoot).

Our second stop – go stretch your legs, grab some coffee and come back – is Last but Won, the shop that “caters to the relaxed lifestyle of the effortless cool”. Very cool indeed. I feel the strongest items in this collection are Adventure Mountain and the Painted Floral Tee, not that the other ones aren’t as great – but I just have a soft spot for patterns and art prints.

Last but not least – oh man, already over?? – I Love Ugly. How fun of a name is that? This online store is made entirely for guys. Yeah! Ladies, time to get your men stylish. It’s great that we can wear all of these patterns without looking like a grandma at the tea salon in Boca – rather – we’ll look like trendy gentlemen at the latest gallery opening.
