March is full of art with lots of earthy neutrals, flora, and a bit of sunshine. A collection that feels like a fresh meadow breeze. Can you smell the art work? It’s citrusy with a hint of honey, it’s clean and full of life. Load your walls with this Spring collection and watch as an artful display blooms right in front of your eyes.

Affordable Art for February

affordable art for February

Yikes! Already February? How did that happen? It feels like I was just taking the Christmas tree down and now I have to get ready to endure some Hallmark/Valentine’s overload. I’m not a cupid-hater, not at all! But you know, sometimes all the sugar, unicorns, and rainbows get a bit overwhelming. Still, to be part of all the love festivities – without the crazy cheesy factor – I decided to inject some Valentine’s spirit into this month’s Affordable Art collection.

This collection is very chill and fun, with lots of pink tones combined with blue/mint, a little bit of type, and a dash of sassy. THAT’S what an artsy Valentine’s Day is all about. So, are you going to celebrate V-day?

Happy weekend amigos!

smart collections: affordable art for November

ART. I need Nice Things

Fall is in full swing and just as the leaves change in color to welcome the crisp, chilly wind – so does the art for this month’s Affordable Art. It’s kinda crazy to see the progression of this series influenced by the weather.

For this collection I dug up a few favorites from I need Nice Things – An Australia based online shop that carries lots of beautiful prints. The style and vibe of this site is more design-y oriented that others; lots of geometry and simple, bright colors. Hope you enjoy the collection! Let me know if you have any favorites! (Mine’s the embroidered circles, of course!).

affordable art for October

Can you believe it?! It’s October already. Thanksgiving (in Canada) is just a few days away. Two more months and 2012 is gone. Ay mami. Well, that certainly leaves no room for procrastination – especially when it comes to purchasing affordable art for your home. In this month’s edition of Smart Collections I dug up some amazingly affordable prints from Society6.

I know it’s Fall and everyone is going gaga for the orange-pumpkin tones, but why not break the rule a bit and inject some Spring 2013 hues into the mix? So fresh. What about you, are you already sipping cinnamon lattes?

A. Polaroid by Ardell Jena | B. Ballet Series by Borisov Studio | C. The Messenger by Natalia Czajkiewicz | D. Girl Covered by Curtain by Natalia Baykalova | E. Milk Weed by Jen Mann

Happy Friday fellas!

Today’s collection is as girly as it gets. The works selected reflect just a smidge of the wonderful influence of women in the arts, from a nostalgic ballet dancer to a half-flower-half-human hybrid. All feminine and powerful  – shit I’m getting deep here. In addition to this, I went for a palette that included lots of blush-esque tones and neutrals with a pop of color. Seriously, this collection can cheer any home! Best of all – it’s super affordable.

Before you go running out the door to enjoy the weekend, I want to share with you an awesome quote I read yesterday on twitter:

Art is tonic & medicinal for us all. As an artist, you are a cultural healer….Julia Cameron

Whoa. And that applies to all creative endeavors – so whatever path you’re in – you are helping others heal. Carry on my friend, carry fucking on. Enjoy the weekend you sexy beasts!
