Armed with a waterproof camera – Japanese artist Asako Narahashi – captures the midpoint between dreams and reality (or water and earth). I’m not sure if the stars are sending all this art inspiration lately – but every single post I’ve done in the last week or so have had some sort of significance – a hidden message?

I like to think of Asako’s work as a spin on the saying “are you a half empty or half full kinda person?”. Half Awake and Half Asleep in the Water can be interpreted as a “are you drowning or are you coming to the surface” type of paradox. If you think about it, spectator A (a bit depressed, going through emotional trouble) could immediately assume that the photographer is sinking and struggling to stay afloat – but in comes spectator B (chipper happy camper) to debunk that silly statement by arguing that no, the photographer is actually coming out to the surface to get some air, no panicking involved – everything’s under control.

With these two cases in mind – what do you see?
