This post comes from Mount Desert Island, Maine, where landscape architect Jennifer Steen Booher has been collecting shoreline treasures for about two years. After beachcombing, she gathers her gems and neatly arranges them against a clean background to pop all the colors and textures. The result: these nifty photos. You must admit, you need an architect’s eye to be able to combine so many random objects into one mighty image.

“Each photo in the series documents the things I found beautiful or curious on a particular beach on a particular day. Because they are so rooted in time and place, the compositions become stylized beach portraits.  As I research the things I find or observe, the photos also record my growing understanding of the coastal environment”

You can find Jennifer’s work on her site or on Etsy.
